Patricia F. Poland, age 63, passed away at University Hospital, Columbia, on Friday May 26, 2017, after a long illness.
Patricia was born November 2, 1953 to Charles Mills and Betty ‘Moore’ Mills of Clinton, MO. After graduating from high school, she went to work in the insurance business, first as a clerical worker and later as a licensed insurance agent. Patricia spent her most recent years helping care for her late husband Mike, who was a Disabled Vietnam Veteran. Patricia loved her family and friends very much. Patricia loved being outside, often doing yard work. She had a fondness for animals, and her basset hound Bailey was often by her side. She was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Clinton, MO.
Surviving are her son, Charles McBroom (Amy) of Lone Jack, MO; a granddaughter, Hannah McBroom; a sister, Melinda Sykes (Jerry) of Kansas City, MO; a step-son, Zach Poland (Heather); a step-daughter, Jane Larson (Doug); step-grandchildren, Gunnar Poland and Willam Larson; also, several close cousins and friends.
Preceding Patricia in death were her parents; her husband, John Michael ‘Mike’ Poland; and a sister, Peggy Kepner.
