Betty Joyce Riecke


Betty Joyce Riecke, age 84, of Clinton, MO, passed away on February 2, 2017, at Westwood Living Center.  Betty was born May 20, 1932, in Sedalia, MO to Harry and Meta ‘Lindemann’ Klein. 

Betty attended school in Sedalia, MO and graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, MO.  She graduated from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, MO and taught in a one room school house near Sedalia.

Betty married Ronald E. Riecke on May 23, 1951 in Windsor, MO.  After marriage Betty was a homemaker. 

Betty enjoyed sewing clothes for her daughters when they were young.  She belonged to a sewing club with several other ladies from Clinton.  Betty enjoyed socializing, gardening, her sewing club and seeing all her family together.    She especially loved when her large family was together for holidays and special events.  Betty was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by her children, Terry (Mike) Ringgold, Topeka, KS, Ronnie (Judy) Riecke, Clinton, MO, Sherry (Randy) Vogt, Urich, MO, Connie (Dennis) Bray, Lebanon, MO, Randy Riecke, Overland Park, KS, Sandy (Curtis) Card, Lenexa, KS, and Keith (Christine) Riecke, New Melle, MO; her grandchildren, John Ringgold, Chad Riecke, Brittany Riecke, Ashley Vogt, Jeremy Vogt, Tyler Bray, Ryan Bray, Cody Card, Jackson Riecke and Sam Riecke; great-grandchildren, Riley Ringgold, Chase Ringgold, Tucker Ringgold, Caleb Riecke, Peyton Riecke and Addi McCart; great-great-grandchild, Rydr Ringgold; her brothers, Bob Klein, Leawood, KS and Don Klein, Frisco, TX.

Preceding Betty in death were her parents, her husband, her sister Joann Klein, and an infant brother. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Hospice or Clinton United Methodist Church and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd, Clinton, MO.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Clinton United Methodist Church.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.

What a beautiful photo of your mom! My sincere condolences. You all will always carry such wonderful memories I've heard from Sandy about through the years. I know with God you will find refuge and get through the day. You've all been blessed having her for a mother and will carry on those things she taught you so your families will always be at peace.

Dear Riecke family. I have good memories about your mom. She was very sweet and good to me as a child. Then to my granddaughters later in life. So sorry for your loss..
